QUICK LENTIL PATTIES

These patties are especially nice with tomato or no-tomato sauce or nut gravy. |
Preheat oven 375 |
Cook till soft: | |
1 med potato (or oriental sweet potato which is drier over others) | |
1 c dry lentils | |
1 small onion | |
1 1/2 c water | |
Blend above with below ingredients: | |
1/2 c chopped walnuts or other chopped nuts or seed | |
1/2 t sage or 1 t cumin and 1 t ginger powder | |
1 t salt | |
1/4 t garlic powder | |
1 T oil | |
1/3-1/2 c flour (non gluten sorghum or wheat) OR 1 egg and 1/4 c flour (non gluten sorghum or wheat) | |
You may use a potato masher to blend the first 4 ingredients. | |
Cool before shaping into patties and fry in small amount of oil approximately 4 minutes per side or bake on oiled cookie sheet for 30 minutes in 375 degree oven |
