SUNFLOWER BURGERS

In a Cuisinart or food processor grind
1 1/3 c raw sunflower seeds
2 med carrots, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
3 scallions or small onion
½ t basil
½ t salt
When it sticks together blend in:
1 T tahini (raw sesame butter) or other nut/seed butter or oil
Blend till you can form small patties.
Replace sunflower seeds with same amount of walnuts. Replace basil with 1 1/2 t poultry seasoning.

Either place on an oiled baking sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes each side OR Pour a bit of olive (or other) oil into a frying pan and fry each side till golden.

You can eat both the Sunflower Burgers and Wanut Patties baked or raw as a filling in celery sticks, as a dip with cucumbers, or as a spread with lettuce wraps, topped with cucumbers. If you add an egg they will hold together better.
