SUNFLOWER BURGERS

|
In a Cuisinart or food processor grind | ||
1 1/3 c raw sunflower seeds | |||
2 med carrots, chopped | |||
1 stalk celery, chopped | |||
3 scallions or small onion | |||
½ t basil | |||
½ t salt | |||
When it sticks together blend in: | |||
1 T tahini (raw sesame butter) or other nut/seed butter or oil | |||
Blend till you can form small patties. | |||
Replace sunflower seeds with same amount of walnuts. Replace basil with 1 1/2 t poultry seasoning. |
Either place on an oiled baking sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes each side OR Pour a bit of olive (or other) oil into a frying pan and fry each side till golden. |

You can eat both the Sunflower Burgers and Wanut Patties baked or raw as a filling in celery sticks, as a dip with cucumbers, or as a spread with lettuce wraps, topped with cucumbers. | If you add an egg they will hold together better. |
